SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) Administrator
Abu Dhabi,
United Arab Emirates
Educational Background
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering), Computer Science, or a related field.
Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD, or other related CAD tools) are often preferred.
Qualifications
Minimum of 12 Years Experience with SmartPlant 3D
Hands-on experience with SmartPlant 3D, including system installation, configuration, and day-to-day management.
Familiarity with SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), as it integrates with SmartPlant 3D to manage design data.
Experience in managing and troubleshooting SP3D model databases (like the Oracle or SQL Server backend).
Experience in 3D modeling (preferably in a process, oil & gas, or plant design environment) is important.
Technical Skills
Database Management: Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) for managing project data, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth integration between SmartPlant 3D and other systems.
System Configuration: Understanding of SmartPlant 3D's environment configuration, including project setup, template management, and customizing user environments.
Licensing and Security Management: Knowledge of configuring and maintaining licenses, user access controls, and project-specific security measures.
Server Administration: Basic server administration skills (Windows/Linux) to manage installation, system monitoring, and troubleshooting for the SmartPlant 3D server environment.
Integration Knowledge: Familiarity with integrating SP3D with other tools in the plant design ecosystem (e.g., PDS, PDMS, Navisworks, AutoCAD) and data exchange standards like IFC, ISO, and others.
Software Skills
Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D, including:
Plant Design: Piping, structural, electrical, and equipment modeling within SP3D.
SmartPlant Isometrics: Knowledge of creating and customizing isometrics from 3D models.
SmartPlant Review: For model visualization and checking design integrity.
SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI): For handling electrical and instrumentation data, if relevant to the industry or project.
CAD Software: Familiarity with other CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and how they integrate with SP3D.
